Fundraising banquet - November 22nd

On Saturday, November 22 RJC hosted its annual Fundraising & Appreciation Banquet.  Over 200 people were on hand to enjoy a meal, bid on silent and live auction items, watch a program, listen to live music, and hear about RJC's new 'Do More Be More' campaign.

RJC alumni, Philip Klaassen and his sister Leah , provided music throughout the evening.

Vice-Principal Ryan Wood hosted 'Menno-Nite Late Night', patterned off a Late Night talk show, complete with a band!

The Roots and Wings band really rocked!

Wood introduced and interviewed a series of three guest, all with RJC connections, who were nominated to CBC's 2014 'Top Forty Under Forty' list.  Matt Love, the first guest, was nominated for his leadership in education at Aden Bowan's 'Collective Voice' program.

Tom Regier was nominated for his research at the Canadian Light source and Synchrotron on the University of Saskatchewan campus.

DeeAnn Mercier was nominated for her work at the Lighthouse, a homeless shelter in downtown Saskatoon.

Brent Guenther was the dry, and hilarious as ever, emcee of the evening

Paul Tiessen volunteered his gifts as auctioneer.

The RJC Board Chair and Vice-Chair, Tammy Forrester and Peter Hooge, launched RJC's 'Do More Be More' campaign, a five year plan to raise over one million dollars for capital development at RJC.

The current SRC contributed one of the first cheques to the campaign!

To cap of the evening, Principal Jim Epp recognized the twenty plus years service of kitchen manager Doreen Fehr.  Epp also thanked everyone for their attendance and assistance in making the evening a success.  As always, we appreciate your unending support.  We raised a record amount at this year's fundraiser!  You never let us down; thank you!!!

Sam Hawkins Oct 29th

The Boys DC hosted their annual Sam Hawkins event for 2015.  The weeks prior to the evening were filled with boys inviting their 'dates' in innovative ways.  The theme for the evening was Greek mythology.  After a delicious meal prepared by our very own kitchen staff of greek ribs, honey garlic chicken wings, greek salad, and lemon potatoes, we enjoyed a chocolate fondue with fresh fruit.  The evening continued in the gym where the students competed in Olympic styled events.  The evening ended with a viewing of the movie Hercules.
A good time was had by all!

The dining hall was decorated and a feast prepared

Kelsey and Manny were MCs for the night.

Waiting to enjoy a feast
