Valley Regional Park Day!

As temperatures neared record highs last week, it was the perfect time to take the afternoon off from school.  The SRC planned a fun afternoon of activity at the Valley Regional Park.  The student body arrived at the park in time for a wiener roast lunch.

Time was spent relaxing, visiting and spending time in the sun.  The afternoon was a huge success.

The 2011-2012 School Year Begins!

 After a restful summer the staff and students have returned to RJC to begin preparations for the exciting new school year that is about to begin.

To begin the year, the staff took a day to work together at a Habitat for Humanity work site in Saskatoon.  It was a great way to reconnect as a group, meet our new staff members and to focus on providing a helping hand to someone in need.

Larry Epp's  knees were put to the test as he repeatedly carried 5 gallon buckets of gravel into the house.

Dave Attema put his building know how to work on the siding.

Jim Epp and Ryan Wood  didn't get to enjoy the sunshine much as they spent the day in the basement.

Joel Driedger, Lloyd Schmidt and Gail Schellenberg took the second shift on the siding.

The SRC and DC students also returned, bubbling with energy and ideas for the new year.

Rachel, Emily, Ryan, Macaila and Sara lead the singing during the SRC, DC commissioning service .

Benjamin mom, Donna brought  a message to the students.  She told of the hopes the parents have for their students as they attend RJC.

Craig Neufeld, youth paster at Rosthern Mennonite Church  also spoke to the students, bringing both a blessing and a challenge.

The students are commissioned into service surrounded by the love and support from the staff.

After the commissioning service the leadership students jumped into action as  there was much work to be done in the school and in the dorm to prepare for move in day!

The students anxiously await the arrival of the student body.  Many hands make light work!!

The students then participated in a walk a mile to end the evening.  It was time for bed after a day full of activity!  Full day of school tomorrow!
