This year's theme for Deeper Life Days was "Civil? War". The Faith and Life committee chose to explore questions such as 'is war ever civil?' and 'how do we respond to the conflict and violence in our world?'
Shalom Wiebe, a MCC worker from Colombia, was invited to share about her experiences from this war-torn region.
Ian Epp and Jenn Regier coordinated and led the sessions.
A drama troupe provided some insightful and entertaining skits.
The Deeper Life Days worship band led the student body in singing.
All students participated in colouring a piece of the dove collage that now adorns our rehearsal hall wall and provided a backdrop for our sessions. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped make this a successful event!

Faith and Life Theme: Branch Out!
This year's Faith and Life committee has chosen "Branch Out!" as a theme for the school year.
"I am the vine and you are the branches" is the scripture that was used to inspire the theme. Each student was given the opportunity to write their name on a leaf on the chapel wall to show that they want to participate in 'branching out' in their lives this year at RJC.
Next time you are at RJC come by the chapel to view the tree on the chapel wall and see how many names your recognize!

CPT Class Projects
The Communications and Production Technologies class has been working with planning and producing short informational videos. The students were purposely limited to still photographs (which they could manipulate with Photoshop) and a specific list of available music. The "what" was not as important as the "how".
Here is an example of one of the projects completed by Grade 11 student Callahan Collier.

RJC Votes
RJC Participates in Student Vote 2008
All the political parties running in Saskatoon-Wanuskewin were represented by students in chapel.
The NDP platform is shared...All the political parties running in Saskatoon-Wanuskewin were represented by students in chapel.
...and the Conservatives...
...don't forget the Green Party...
...or the Liberals.
The student body had the opportunity to make their vote count as RJC participated in Student Vote 2008, an initiative of elections Canada to promote political education among young people.
Brayden Holman casts his vote too.
