The evening began with registration during which time, every registrant received an RJC toque, and entered a draw for a door prize. Once they had their name tag and toque, they were off to the dining hall for a delicious meal of spaghetti, meat sauce, Caesar salad, garlic flat bread and ice cream sandwiches.

At 6;45, everyone met in the gym for an official welcome by principal Gail Schellenberg, and introductions of all staff. After a short promotional video (now showing on our Website and YouTube), students were divided into groups and led on tours of the school with stops in a number of classrooms.

Allison Goerzen, Rachel Stock and Danielle Hunt led the Performing Arts part of the tour

A number of students led a non stop athletics display in the gym. CPT students showed some of the videos created in class in the computer lab. Science experiments were performed, and participants also learned about Christian Ethics classes and Chapels, International trips and ALSO, Agriculture classes, Performing Arts and SRC/DC.

Then came the part of the evening many current and prospective students look forward to – the coffee house.

Concert choir began with a taste of Jazz singing, “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.”
This was followed by quartets, duets, dance numbers, a singing contest, draws for door prizes and closed out with the heavy metal band, “Forgotten Prodigy” performing the Rise Against song, "Re-education."

Parents were then invited to a meeting in the chapel to ask questions and receive further information about the school, while grade 9 – 11 students were invited to seriously consider RJC for their high school experience and to picture themselves at RJC. Then a night lunch of Rice Krispie cake and puffed wheat cake prepared everyone for the journey home.
It was a fun and informative evening and we are grateful to all the people who came as well as to students and staff for all their hard work in making the Open House a great success.
