Pennies for Poverty

Our annual Pennies for Poverty drive has begun, and RJC students are busy raising money for the Lo Carranza MCC daycare project in Guatemala. A friendly competition has the staff, boys and girls trying to outdo each other with the amount of money they can raise. Some of the creative ways of raising money have included: Washing dishes, plucking eye-brows, giving massages, shovelling walks and a dodge ball tourney. Thanks to all who have supported these efforts!

Advent Chapels

Advent is in full swing, and the Faith and life committee has been busy planning chapels. The first advent chapel featured the hope candle and the students were lead in some readings by Levi Doerksen and Suzanne Luitjens. During the second week our hearts were warmed with a message of peace, and our 'angel' Allison Goerzen. brought us a message of joy in this past week. The students are anticipating the Christmas Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 18, the day before their Christmas concert and Christmas break.
