Water Fun Day!

Learning and teaching was suspended for an afternoon as students and staff took a mid week break from classes last week.  The SRC planned an afternoon of water activities for the entire student body.  It was great way to celebrate the last week of classes and a chance to have fun and alleviate some stress as we enter into exam week and the final week of musical practices.

Mega  Maeng  races to fill a bucket with water transferred using only an ordinary kitchen sponge

Dylan Markwart and his teammates try a different approach, the firemen's brigade, to fill their bucket.

Mathew Heppner and Julie Epp team up in water balloon beach volleyball.

Jocelyn Wiebe and  Luke Derksen race to save the water balloon.

Kim Koop and Monica Siemens battle it out with  wet noodles on the balance beam.

The girls race to be first down the waterslide!

Not to be outdone the boys quickly followed suit!

Even the staff had to get in on the action!  Here Vice Principal Jim Epp along with son, Erik and niece, Danika hit the slide together.
Allison Goerzen and Carissa Brockman give surfing a try!

A massive water balloon fight is a fitting way to end a perfect Water Fun Day.

BOMBS AWAY!

RJC Welcomes the Rain

The valley area has been waiting for a rain like the one we had today! The dry thirsty conditions of the fields were briefly quenched this afternoon. We hope the local farmers benefitted from the sudden rain.

A sudden, but welcomed, downpour had students 'dancing in the rain'!

Students burn off a little energy and stress in an all out water/mud fight!

Students proudly display their battle wounds!

Summer Has Finally Arrived!

We think summer has finally arrived! The students have been taking advantage in the change of weather and are thoroughly enjoying the sunshine and hot temperatures. (Although the classrooms really are heating up during the day and making class just a little less enjoyable than they usually are!)

Jennifer Regier and Ian Epp lead their last Faith and Life chapel outside on the front lawn.

Ultimate Frisbee is a PE class favorite. Here Curtis Wiens defends against Coby Friesen.

Mark Buckingham, Evan Brockman and Jordan Wiens enjoy a refreshing dip at the local swimming pool.

Everybody's favorite....chicken fights!

Eric Lo chases down Jezreel Chang during a game of 'Tupperware'.

Jacoba Fast and Russell Martens try to advance the tire but is stopped short by Julian Tate- Penna.

Coby Friesen and Jacoba Fast show down in rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to douse the other with water!

Grade 10's host the Valley Action Industries Track and Field Day

When Valley Action Industries contacted us about helping with their annual track and field meet, our Grade 10 class happily accepted the invitation! Valley Action is our local agency that works with handicapped adults. Thankfully the weather cooperated by providing a bright sunny day for the competition. Together we enjoyed a fun day of activities and warm sunshine.

We would like to thank Valley Action for allowing us to participate in this event. Our students not only had a great day but also learned a lot from the clients and the staff from Valley action!
