2010 Winter Olympics held at RJC

The weather was perfect for the official 2010 Winter Olympic games! The SRC organized an afternoon of winter activities to help celebrate the Vancouver games. The student body was organized into several teams which completed at different activities throughout the afternoon.

The Relay was the kick off to the afternoon. Here the skaters lead off with the batons. Matthew Hildebrandt skated for an early lead for his team.

P4P Final Tally!

This year's final tally for Pennies for Poverty was an amazing $10,507.92! The money was directed to the Rosthern Food Pantry ($2500), Haiti ($3000) and Guatemala (over $5000).



The Faith and Life Executive Danika Epp presents a $2500 cheque to Pastor Mike of the Lutheran Church who accepted the money on behalf of the Rosthern Food Pantry.

Faith and Life Executive member Katie McLellan presents a cheque of $5000.00 for MCC service projects in Guatemala to Carmen Pauls and the Guatemala Service and Learning team.

RJC proudly presents the 2010 Open House


On January 22, approximately 140 people joined us for Open House. Our theme was “Come and see how sweet we are”. Each student who registered received a “World’s Finest Chocolate” bar, four of which had gold tickets worth $500 in tuition reduction. Guests participated in tour stops in the school and dorms and enjoyed a coffee house put on by RJC students. Over the course of the evening much information about Rosthern Junior College was shared by students and staff. It was a sweet evening.

The highlight of the evening for both our students and the audience was the coffee house. Hugo Malan, Jamieson Fitzgerald and Jessie Wozniczka were the MC's for the evening.

The evening ended with the breaking of a pinata. Danielle Brockman gives it a swing. Sweet!
