Dirty February comes to an end!

One longstanding tradition at RJC is Dirty February. For the guys, this means seeing how much facial hair you can grow by not shaving during February, with the entire process culminating in a party, dubbed ‘The Moustache Party,’ at the end of the month. The whole month is deemed to be a bonding experience for all of the guys at the school and in no way excludes the teachers, many of whom choose to participate. The highlight of the month for most is the party at the end, which can be described in many ways, but the best description for it would be greasy. Awards are given out for noteworthy achievements in the area of facial hair growth, ‘manly’ games are played, and lots and lots of food is consumed, including an eating contest. This year the theme for the food was deep-fried. Mars bars, Kit-Kat bars, Oreos and much more were deep-fried. As always, Dirty February will again be considered a success this year.

The girls also participate in Dirty February by refraining from shaving for the entire month as well! They celebrated at the end of the month by holding a 'Spa Night'. Spa night was fun way to get all the girls together. They started off with a contest in which Dorm Council decided on winners of trophies for 'hairyness' such as 'Blonde Beaut' and Wooly Mammoth'. They followed the presentations with a well needed waxing and shaving. The girls continued their beautification by doing nails, facials and even some hair dos. Delicious food was also served. Dirty February ended with a new, clean and smooth start to March
