The Record Breaking Spectacular!

RJC'S RECORD BREAKING SPECTACULAR!!!!
RJC students hold an annual fundraising event in May. This is their opportunity to participate in the investment in Christian education at Rosthern Junior College by collecting sponsors for the event. Over $6000 dollars has been collected already! If you did not have the opportunity to contribute to this exciting fundraiser and would still like too, please forward your contribution to the school.

This year students made up teams to take on the challenge of "breaking records". There were 16 different tasks or activities. Accurate measurements, times and distances were taken to determine which team set the record for the event.

Bronwyn Warkentin, a member of team "Tight and Bright" takes aim with a super soaker to see how many candles she can extinguish.

A popular challenge was the raw egg toss. Jenn Regier demonstrates ingenuity as she uses a sweatshirt in her attempt to catch an egg without it breaking. Believe it or not, the record set was over 190 feet!!

Another fun challenge was "a fly on the wall". Teams were given one roll of duct tape and the task of taping a team member to the wall of the school. The team that was successful with the least amount of tape used was the winner. The second part of the challenge was getting off the wall without any assistance! Here Callahan Collier was the chosen 'fly'.

"Team Star Wars" also used a novel approach in their quest to catch a water balloon launched from a giant slingshot.

Each team was required to bring their results to the school where Cheryl Schmidt, RJC Secretary, kept track of results. "Team Prospector" chose their attire because of their quest for record-setting "golds".

Getting your entire team to skip rope together wasn't tough enough........one of them had to be on a pogo stick!

Some of the team costumes created strange sights in the town Rosthern. Here is team 'Star Wars' strolling through a field on their way to their next challenge.
