RJC Update Oct 16-23

EVENTS THIS WEEK INCLUDE:

 

- Tuesday, Oct 16, 4:00 pm - Boys' soccer game, RJC versus Bruno, at Bruno Central School

- Wednesday, Oct 17 - Girls' soccer game at home versus Martensville

- Thursday, Oct 18, 4:00 pm - Football game, Rosthern versus PACI (Prince Albert Collegiate), in Rosthern.

- Friday & Saturday, October 12 & 13:
- Girls' Volleyball tournament in Lanigan.
- Boys' Volleyball tournament at Rossignol High School, in Ile-a-la-Crosse

  - Girls' Regional Soccer playoffs at RJC.  RJC will play Chief Poundmaker School at 3:00 pm on Friday.  The winner of that game plays Valley Christian Academy at 12:00 noon on Saturday.
- Boys' Regional Soccer playoffs at North Battleford.  RJC will play Maymont on Friday at 1:00 pm.  The winner of that game plays Cando on Saturday at 9:30 am.

PLEASE NOTE:  For all SHSAA playoff tournaments (volleyball, football & soccer) the SHSAA mandates that the hosting schools collect a gate admission.  Please, if you are planning to attend these events, be prepared to pay admission.  This money is collected, forwarded to the SHSAA and they, in turn, pay for the officials for these events.  Thank you for your cooperation.


- Tuesday, October 23, 5:30-7:30 pm - RJC KIELKE & SAUSAGE SUPPER Fundraiser at Bethany Manor (110 LaRonge Road, Saskatoon).  Featuring farmer sausage, homemade noodles & cream gravy, and salad.  Admission is by donation, and the RJC Chorale will be performing.  Everyone is welcome.   



UPCOMING EVENTS:

PARENT / TEACHER / DEAN INTERVIEWS, Thursday, November 8, 1:00-6:00 pm in the RJC Rehearsal Hall.  Parents will have an opportunity to meet with RJC staff  Thursday afternoon from 1:00-6:00 pm (come-and-go basis).  Classes end at noon on Thursday, and the school and dorms will close for the November Remembrance Long Weekend (November 9-12).  No supper will be served on Thursday.  Classes resume Tuesday, November 13 at 8:30 am.


RJC CORPORATION ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - Saturday, November 17  in the school chapel (2nd floor), between 5:00 and 6:00 pm.  This meeting is an important time for acknowledging the past year, but just as importantly, planning for the current fiscal year.  Everyone welcome.


- RJC FUNDRAISING AND APPRECIATION BANQUET - Saturday, November 17, 6:00 pm in the school gymnasium.  Everyone is invited to join us for an evening of connecting with friends and supporting the mission of the school.  This year's guest speaker will be Kim Pityn, Chief Operations Officer of MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Association) who will speak about "Sustainable Tools That Give Hope to the World".  The evening will feature live music performances from several individuals and groups in the RJC Alumni community. A Silent and Live Auction will also be held, and an offering will be taken during the event to fundraise for the programming of RJC.  To reserve your complimentary tickets call 306.232.4222 or email office@rjc.sk.ca by November 8th, so that the kitchen can prepare for the numbers expected.  Limited tickets available!


- RJC ON STAGE Fall Theatre - Sunday and Monday, November 18 & 19, 7:00 pm in the Pit Theatre.  The RJC Theatre Arts class is preparing a stage version of the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie mystery "The 39 Steps."  The Musical Theatre class will present excerpts from "Godspell" - a story based on the book of Matthew.  Tickets are on sale now for the Sunday or Monday evening performances.  Tickets are $10 each, and need to be reserved by calling RJC at 306 232-4222.
