Chapel
Report Fri. Dec. 7, 2012
Chapel
this week featured a visit on Tues. Dec. 4 from MCC Saskatchewan’s Community
& Young Adult Coordinator Myriam Ullah, along with two interns Rebecca and
Erin. They shared about their
experience serving with MCC SK and related some information about MCC’s
programming. Chapel closed with a
viewing of this year’s winning entries in MCC SK’s annual ‘Redefining
Community’ film contest, which featured some RJC Alumni!
On
Wednesday Dec. 5, staff and students celebrated the achievements from the fall
sports season. Coaches and players
from the boys’ and girls’ soccer and volleyball teams and the football team
shared season highlights. Athletic
director Joel Driedger thanked the students for their participation (80% of RJC
students were involved in a fall sport this year!) and commended them on their
sportsmanship.

Advent
chapels continued on Thursday Dec. 6 with the lighting of the peace candle, a
puppet show, carol singing, and a message from Faith and Life student leader
Joesf Beug. This along with ‘The
12 days of Christmas’ dress-up days planned by the Spirit Committee are helping
students get into the Christmas spirit, even though many are far from home.

On
Friday Dec. 7, RJC was honored to have Conrad Flett, host of the television
show Tribal Trails, share in chapel.
Conrad’s soft, yet to the point, message conveyed his heart for God and
his desire for others to experience the peace he himself has found. He also played two songs.
