Chapel Report
Friday March 22, 2013

This week in chapel students began preparing for ALSO Week with chapels focusing on poverty, hunger, and food waste.  Videos from TED Talks featuring Bono and Tristam Stuart were used to keep students and staff appraised of current trends and statistics concerning poverty in the world.  Ryan Wood introduced this year’s ALSO theme: “There are Two Sides to Every Story” based on the parable of  ‘The Rich Man and Lazarus’ and encouraged students to view their thoughts on ‘wealth’ and ‘poverty’ through the eyes and teachings of Jesus.  Continuing with Lent the Faith and Life Committee shared a readers theatre featuring students holding items representing things that we need to leave behind (anger, pride, greed, fear, worry) as we follow Jesus to Jerusalem for Holy Week.
