RJC Opening Program - September 13, 2015

The RJC Community celebrated the beginning of a new year on Sunday, September 13 with the Opening Program. A appreciative audience heard sharing from students, parents, teachers, and singing from the Concert Choir (their first pubic appearance of the year.)

SRC Co-Presidents Jade and Liam welcomed all to the Opening Program.

Peter Hooge brought greetings from the board.

Concert Choir's first song was an African freedom song
"Hallelujah, we sing your praises".
Jill Wiens (teacher intern) directed.

Ma April (1st year, grade 10)read a Bible verse
and shared about her decision to come to RJC.

Katie (2nd year, grade 12) shared of her experiences last year,
and the excitement she has for the coming year.

Isaac (3rd year, grade 12) shared his about his
RJC experience.

Alyssa (1st year, grade 11) talked about her family
history at RJC, and how her decision to attend
is part of a long tradition.

Alyssa (violin) and Claire (saxophone) added
a lot to the Concert Choir.

Concert Choir's second piece was
"I will come to you in the silence"
directed by Richard Janzen.

A scripture reading by Dante (11), Jared (11), and Danielle (12).

The gym was full of friends and supporters of RJC.



Kylee Kosokowsky (graduate of 2015) accepted her
academic awards as the graduating student with
the highest average last spring.
