RJC Update April 1-13

EVENTS THIS WEEK INCLUDE:

- Tuesday, April 1, 3:15 pm - Badminton at Rosthern High School versus RHS and Valley Christian Academy.

- Wednesday, April 2, am - ALSO Guatemala group flies out early Wednesday morning from Saskatoon to Guatemala City.
- Wednesday, April 2, 11:30 pm - ALSO Alabama group leaves by bus Wednesday evening for Alabama.

- Monday-Friday, April 7-11 - ALSO Service Week.  Students will be serving in Saskatoon, SK and High River, AB (April 7-11), Guatemala (April 2-13), and Alabama (April 2-13). 



UPCOMING EVENTS:

- PARENT / TEACHER / DEAN  INTERVIEWS - Thursday, April 17, 1:00-6:00 pm.  


- EASTER HOLIDAYS, April 18-27.  Classes are finished at noon on Thursday (April 17), with Parent Teacher Interviews following from 1:00-6:00 pm.  Dorms close by 6:00 pm (no supper served), and re-open Sunday, April 27 at 3:00 pm.  Classes resume Monday, April 28 at 8:30 am.  All students need to make arrangements to travel home or stay with family or friends during the Easter break.  If you are able to help us out by inviting one of our students to spend a portion of the holidays with your family, please let us know by calling the Deans' Office (306 232-5665) or the RJC Business Office (306 232-4222).
 

- CAMS (Canadian Association of Mennonite Schools) MUSIC FESTIVAL, May 1-4 in Calgary.  RJC Chorale will be participating in this event.


- PARAGUAYAN RECYCLED ORCHESTRA CONCERT, May 6, 7:00 pm - Rosthern Junior College and Eigenheim Mennonite Church are hosting a performance of the Paraguayan Recycled Orchestra in the RJC auditorium.  

The Recycled Orchestra is comprised of students from Cateura, Paraguay who play instruments made from recycled goods collected from the garbage dump near where they live.  They have recently traveled the world to raise funds to improved their school, and educational programs in Paraguay.

In conjunction with the show, the RJC Peace and Justice Studies class will display a 'Rethink/Recycle' art exhibit in the Rehearsal Hall before and after the performances.  Join us for an inspirational evening of story and music to see how hope is rising in one of South America's poorest communities.  This will be the only Saskatchewan stop on their Canadian Tour.  To reserve your tickets please contact Gwen Ens at recycled.rosthern@gmail.com or call 306 232-9117.


- RJC AMAZING RACE Sr High Event, May 10 -  Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to "save the date" for this event.  Contact Valerie White for more details (val@rjc.sk.ca).


- RJC SPRING CHOIR CONCERT, May 10, 7:00 pm - This is the finale of the choral year at RJC and will feature performances by Concert Choir, ManChoir and Chorale.  Everyone is welcome.


- RJC ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT, May 24 at Valley Regional Park, Rosthern.  Contact RJC or Dan Richert (dan@rjc.sk.ca) for more details.
