Chapel Report
Friday November
29, 2013
Jim Epp shared in
chapel on Monday Nov. 25. His
topic was ‘How Love Looks’ and he related three stories that demonstrate love
in practical terms. The most
personal story was about his Grandma who, after fleeing Russia, remembered how
her sister shared her food ration at a time of hunger.
On Wed. Nov. 27 the
fall sports season was highlighted during an assembly in the chapel. A comment was made for each player on
the boys’ and girl’s soccer and volleyball teams as well as the players from
the football, golf, and cross country teams. As per tradition, donuts and hot chocolate followed!
On Thurs. Nov. 28 the
RJC Faith and Life Committee hosted the YESS! Summit (The Youth Environmental
Stewardship and Sustainability Summit).
In attendance were many workshop leaders and presenters as well as the
student leadership teams from Constable Robin Cameron High School and the
Rosthern High School. Students
explored environmental topics ranging from ‘simple living’ to ‘natural building
techniques’ to name a couple of topics.
Student leaders finished the day by signing the YESS! Summit mural and
indicating an action step going forward.
Advent continued in
chapel on Fri. Nov. 29 when the peace candle was lit.
