RJC was pleased to host over 190 guests at it's annual Fundraising and Appreciation banquet on Saturday, November 16. The school's AGM or Corporation Meeting was held first at 5 pm followed by an evening of delicious food, great singing, an abundance of bidding on silent auction items and an inspiring keynote address by Susan Schulz Huxman, President of Conrad Grebel University College in Waterloo, Ontario. All of the money raised at the event supports student learning at RJC. Thanks to all who came and supported the mission of Christian education at Rosthern Junior College.

Viewing and bidding on items at the silent auction tables was a great way to support RJC and visit with old and new friends at the same time! |
The RJC gymnasium proved again to be a comfortable setting for the 190 plus guests attending the banquet. |
Board member Nicolle Tiessen played a key role in organizing the evening. Here she is encouraging attendees to bid high and bid often on silent auction items. |
Musical entertainment was provided by Sine Nomine, a men's quartet made up of RJC alumni from three decades. They entertained the audience with both a classical and contemporary repetoire. |
Guest speaker Susan Schulz Huxman, President of Conrad Grebel University College, challenged the audience to respond to God's radical call to "leave behind our nets" as the disciples did and follow whatever path God has for our lives. She also made a compelling case for the importance of church schools, saying they are often the place where young people encounter this direction for their future as well. |

The banquet was scrumptious!!! Many thanks to the hardworking and talented staff in the RJC kitchen for feeding us all so well! |
