Chapel Review Weekending March 21st


Chapel Report
Friday March 21, 2014

Dean of Women, Rianna Isaak, shared in chapel on Mon. Mar. 17.  Her message focused on the challenges of dealing with negative thoughts.  She encouraged students to ‘turn off the tape recorder’ in their minds concerning the lies we tell ourselves.  Through personal stories she gave examples of how this can be accomplished.  The students appreciated her thoughtful message.



On Tues. Mar. 18 the student body celebrate the completion of the winter sports season.  Basketball, hockey, and curling captains shared highlights from the season and donuts and hot chocolate was served!  Thanks to all the players, fans, coaches, and officials who helped make this a great season!






Rosthern Mennonite Church pastor Craig Neufeld joined us in chapel on Wed. Mar. 19.  He prepared students for their upcoming service week by speaking on the ALSO theme “To Participate is to be Fully Human”.  He shared stories from the life of Jean Vanier, founder of the L’Arche community that works with adults with special needs around the world.


On Thursday Mar. 20 students split into ALSO groups (Saskatoon, High River, Alabama, and Guatemala) to prepare for their service week.  Students will leave in early April for their service assignments. 



On Friday Mar. 21 Alejandra Fuentes and Hope Barilla shared their grade 12 chapels.  Their powerful testimonies of loss, love, and hope were an encouragement to all.
