- Thursday, March 6, 7:30 pm - Choir Concert at RMC - RJC Chorale will be guest performers at a concert at Rosthern Mennonite Church (3016 - 5th Street East), featuring the Pembina Trails Voices from Winnipeg.  This choir features three very exciting vocal groups of high school singers. They are directed by David Sawatzky and Janet Brennamen (Janet also teaches at Canadian Mennonite University.) This will be a very entertaining evening of high quality choral singing!  Tickets are $5 at the door.  Students are free!

- Friday & Saturday, March 7-8 - Girls' Basketball Regional playoffs at Langham.
- Friday & Saturday, March 7-8 - Boys' Basketball Regional playoffs at Middle Lake.

For draws and results of the Girls' and Boys' Regional playoffs, go to:   http://www.shsaa.ca/page/show/808890-home-of-shsaa

PLEASE NOTE:  For all SHSAA playoff tournaments the SHSAA mandates that the hosting schools collect a gate admission.  If you are planning to attend these events, please be prepared to pay admission.  This money is collected, forwarded to the SHSAA and they, in turn, pay for the officials for these events.  Thank you for your cooperation.

- Saturday, March 8, 4:30 pm - Generation-Next Glow Bowling.  This event, cancelled last week because of extremely cold temperatures, is re-scheduled for this Saturday.  Please contact Val (val@rjc.sk.ca) if you have a younger child who is interested in attending.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

FESTIVAL OF CHOIRS, March 16, 2:30 pm:   RJC Chorale is excited to be part of the Festival of Choirs event at Third Avenue United Church, Saskatoon on Sunday, March 16.  Joining Chorale are the Canadian Mennonite University Singers and The Station Singers of Rosthern. This annual event with CMU is growing each year, and enjoyed a huge audience last year with the move to Third Avenue.  Admission is free; a collection will be taken in support of both RJC and CMU. Don't miss this event!

- SASK VALLEY MUSIC FESTIVAL, March 17-23:  Concert Choir and Chorale will again participate in the Sask Valley Music Festival competitions this March.  The RJC Choirs (Concert Choir & Chorale) will sing Wednesday afternoon, beginning at 12:45 pm.  I have a Music Festival Program book in the office if you have a student participating and want to know what day and time they perform.

- SPEND-A-DAY and FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE, March 28.  On Friday & Saturday we are opening our doors for youth from grades 8-11 for
Spend-A-Day.  We will start on Friday with registration and lunch, and end the event on Saturday morning with a delicious brunch from the cooks (which the whole family is welcome to attend).  All our Spend-A-Day guests will be invited to attend FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE,  an evening of performances by RJC students and staff to a live audience of over 200 guests from a variety of schools, churches and youth groups.  If you or someone you know has a child who is interested in learning more about RJC and would like to Spend-A-Day on campus (attending classes, staying overnight in the dorms, etc), please visit the website for a registration form or more information.  Forms need to be in by March 20. You can email val@rjc.sk.ca for more information. You are more than welcome to attend the FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE event on March 28th even if you are not interested in attending the whole Spend-A-Day weekend.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

COFFEE HOSTS REQUIRED. Positive feedback from our students and their families is so very important to us and so valuable to other parents and families considering RJC. We want to provide an opportunity for you to share your experience and that of your RJC student. One idea would be for you to host a casual "coffee evening" in your home with your friends or family - people you are in contact with that might have children who would do well at RJC. We would come with promotional material and join with you to share the story of RJC, and provide information and answer questions for your friends and family.  Please contact Valerie White if you are interested in being a coffee host at val@rjc.sk.ca or call 306-232-4222 with some dates that might work for you.
